Dear divettes and divers,
We did Black Rock / Ramon's Reef as a first dive. It was a good dive, but we counted 8 lionfish during the dive. This is an alarming amount. The lion fish is a preditor that eats small and young fish. The mangroves are the nursery for most of the local fish species so when these two come together in one place there is a problem. Today we did not mark the spots as there were just too many. But on a day off, we hereby request the help of rangers to catch them. We will keep you informed about the Lionfish crisis.
